I recently flew into Dubai’s DXB airport – Terminal 1 as I was flying Vistara from BOM-DXB. As there are no fast-track gates for business class, I used the meet and greet service available with the IndusInd Avios Credit Card for Arrivals. Here’s everything you need to know real quick.
Service
Marhaba offers three packages for meet and greet: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. The bank provides the Bronze package, which includes fast-track immigration but does not come with a porter.
Additionally, the Bronze package is a shared service, meaning a single executive will handle multiple guests at the same time.
My Experience
As soon as I landed in Terminal 1, I headed to the train that transfers passengers to the arrivals area.
Just before immigration, I noticed the Marhaba meet and greet executives with name boards. After identifying myself, I was asked to wait for a few minutes as the executive was waiting for two other guests.
After about 10 minutes, the other guests had not shown up, so she took me to the fast-track immigration entry dedicated to Marhaba. However, as the counters were busy, security directed us to the staff line.
At the staff immigration counter, there was no one, so I handed over my passport and got it stamped with no questions asked. I wish the entire world worked like that.
Additionally, I was given a free 5G SIM card with 1GB of data, which was a pleasant surprise.
Bottomline
While the international meet and greet service offered through the IndusInd Avios Credit Card was quite basic and not end-to-end, I would use it any day since immigration is where it takes quite a bit of time.
During this trip, looking at the crowd, I guess I saved at least 30 minutes, if not more. It would be great if more super-premium credit cards in India offered this nice and noteworthy perk.
